Tap Into the Arts at the Tribeca Film Festival
As if you needed another reason to visit New York City this month, here’s the perfect one: the Tribeca Film Festival. Join us April 13th - April 24th as visitors and locals alike make their way to Tribeca for this 12-day event that celebrates film, the performing arts and everything in between. There will be so much going down, you might have trouble deciding on what to attend. Here are four Tribeca Film Fest happenings to check out:
1. Screenings of indie films will be showing all week long. Choose from a selection of videos ranging from narratives to documentaries to shorts and more, held at the Bow Tie Chelsea Cinemas and Regal Cinemas Battery Park.
2. Get film advice from stars like Tina Fey during the "Tribeca Talks: Storytellers" series. She’ll be at the Borough of Manhattan Community College on April 19th to speak about her career and the paths she took to get there. Or catch Tom Hanks and John Oliver on April 22nd at the BMCC as they discuss story telling. So many talented stars, so little time!
3. For the aspiring directors, the "Tribeca Talks: Director’s Series" is all you. Head to the SVA Theater to hear what advice Joss Whedon, director of The Avengers, and actor Mark Ruffalo have to give on April 18th. Or hear Alfonso Cuarón speak about his role in directing Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Gravity on April 20th. Whatever talk you decide to attend, you’re sure to walk away with advice from the pros.
4. Just make sure the Tribeca Film Festival Street Fair is on your list. It’s a free event that offers an inside look into the world of filmmaking, gaming, sports, and the performing arts through workshops and screenings. Everyone and their mother will be there, so you should be too. And with Tribeca right next door to SoHo, and a short walk from your Hotel Hugo HQ, you’re pretty much where all the action is.
